⚠ SAFETY CORRECTION — July 30, 2026
The original automated wading assessment in this historical report is withdrawn. It relied on a predawn snapshot and did not apply the required fail-closed water-entry safety controls. Do not use this post as clearance to wade.
Why this correction was issued: The report used only two of three required safety inputs. After publication, official USGS data show Holyoke rising from 6,540 to 14,300 CFS and Thompsonville from 8,960 to 16,100 CFS during the day.
A fishing-activity score is not a water-safety assessment. Verify live USGS gauges, current, weather, and access conditions before entering moving water. During rising water, do not wade.
